Remembering our Redrats

In the early hours of 22 March 2003, a tragic event marked a sombre chapter in the proud history of 849 NAS, when two Sea King Mk 7 helicopters from 849 A Flt embarked in HMS ARK ROYAL collided over the north Arabian Gulf during Operation TELIC.

Thoughts today are with the family and friends of the crew of Redrat 34 and Redrat 35, Lt Philip Green, Lt Antony King, Lt Marc Lawrence, Lt Philip West, Lt James Williams, Lt Andrew Wilson and Lt Tom Adams USN.

They will never be forgotten.
